I was inspired this colourway called Steppe of Beyul DK (baby yak/silk/merino blend yarn from Kettle Yarn Co) that reminds me of October and November colors in Southern Finland. That time when fall colors try to take power in the nature and some greens are still fighting back. This cardigan is worked seamlessly from top down and has a repeating cable pattern that makes knitting interesting. The folded collar gives extra warmth to the neck and an i-cord edging finishes the cardigan. You have to be able to read charts for this pattern.

Sizing: 

XS (S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL) 

Cardigan is intended to be worn with a very small amount of positive ease around the bust. Finished bust measurements approx. 31.5(35.5, 39.5, 43.5, 47.25, 51.2, 55.1)“/80(90, 100, 110, 120, 130, 140) cm

To fit bust sizes: 30(34, 38, 42, 46, 50, 54)”/[75 (85, 95, 105, 115, 125, 135) cm].  

The sample shown is size S, worn on approx. 34”/85 cm bust with approx. 5 cm positive ease.

Gauge: 

20 sts and 28 rows = 4” [10 cm] in Stockinette stitch with larger US 6 (4 mm) needles.

26 sts and 28 rows = 4” [10 cm] in Cable pattern with 2 st st sts between cable panels with larger US 6 (4 mm) needles. Use10 sts cable panel with 2 purl sts between to measure the cable pattern gauge.

Materials: 

Yarn: 

Kettle Yarn Co. Beyul DK (Baby Yak/Silk/Ethical SW Merino, 100g/232 yds/212 m per skein). You need approx. 6(6, 7, 8, 8, 9) skeins or 1260(1390, 1540, 1690, 1850, 2070)yds/1150(1270, 1410, 1550, 1690, 1900)m DK weight yarn. 

The sample was knitted in size S with colorway Steppe. 

Needles: 

US 6 (4 mm) 40”/100 cm circular needle.

US 5 (3,5 mm) 40”/100 cm circular needle. 

Adjust the needle size to get the correct gauge. 

Other: 

Cable needle, tapestry needle, locking/removable stitch markers, stitch holders/scrap yarn. Buttons 7 pieces (width approx. 0.8”/2 cm).
